In The Media & Newsletter » Support for the 'National Ugly Mugs'
To The Editor,
I read with interest your piece about Lincolnshire Police and County Council pledging to support for the 'National Ugly Mugs, (NUM),' scheme.
It provides greater access to justice and protection for sex workers and allows those workers to receive alerts to warn them of possible threats.
It means these women can register and be pre-warned about sexual predators, who could harm them and subject them to violent attacks.
Sex workers - because of the very nature of their work - can be incredibly hard to reach out to. This scheme offers some form of protection from harm.
