Support for calls to reform business rates

Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy and our communities. It is there we find the entrepreneurs who design and make, buy and sell, who employ people, who make things tick.

This is why it is crucial the Government should protect and help them grow.

I read with interest that The Federation of Small Businesses, (FSB), has called on the Government to reform business rates in the next budget.

The Government promised reform before the election last year and now it is time to step up to the plate.

As UKIP's small business spokesman I fully support the FSB call for businesses using low value premises with a value of less than £12,000 to be removed from the rating system.

That would be one step to making it fairer for our small businessmen and women to thrive and flourish.
