UKIP MEP Margot Parker has praised a local shop reward scheme in Louth which has seen the Christmas tills jingling.
The party's small business spokesman said she was pleased to see the Louth Independent Traders rewarding shoppers who support the scheme.
It gives a free VIP card, entitling shoppers to discounts and offers. The launch of the scheme was hailed a great success.
Mrs Parker, who fights for small traders and businesses, said: "I would like to compliment the stores taking part. What a wonderful idea.
"Small traders are the lifeblood of our town centres and we must do all we can to help them thrive. This scheme is a great example of how an innovative but simple scheme can boost trade and give shoppers an excellent service.
"Hats off to everyone involved in the scheme in Louth."
Margot has recently been in the news demanding councils allow shoppers to park free for at least in town centres in an attempt to help boost trade,
