In The Media & Newsletter » MEP Margot Parker backs to fight to save care centre '...crucial to keep the centre open says MEP...'
CORBY'S MEP has come out fighting in the battle to keep the town's Urgent Care Centre open.
Margot Parker, who lives in the town and has used the facility, praised residents who launched a campaign to keep it open.
Shock news last week revealed no new operator had been found for a new contractor due to start on October 1.
Mrs Parker said: "Knowing the people of Corby as I do, it comes as no surprise they will fight tooth and nail for this vital service to stay open.
"Having used this centre myself I know just how vital it is.
"Not only is it a fantastic facility but it also relives the pressure on Kettering General Hospital.
"I hope the centre gets the funding it deserves - if there's anything as the town's MEP I can, I would urge people to contact me."
