UKIP MEP Margot Parker has called on health leaders and local councils to help save the only walk-in centre in Lincolnshire.

She was reacting to reports that they had given 'passive reactions' following the announcement the centre in Lincoln could be closed for good - despite protests from residents.

Mrs Parker said: "Press reports seem to indicate a lack response from health Trust and other authorities.

"But the public is quite clear - they want this centre to remain open and 2,000 signatures in less than 24 hours illustrates the strength of feeling.

"There have already been recent closures of GP surgeries and the possible closure of this centre would continue to put an increased strain on other surgeries and, of course, A and E departments."

She urged people to make their views known by visiting https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/wic-consultation
