UKIP MEP Margot Parker joined thousands of protesters marching against the controversial decision to close Grantham Hospital's A&E department at night.
The East Midlands MEP joined thousands of local residents and politicians from across all parties as they marched from St Peter's Hill and along Grantham High Street before heading onto Watergate and Manthorpe Road, walking up to the hospital.
About 6,000 joined the march - double the number of the last mass protest in August.
Mrs Parker said: "The message was clear - the people of Grantham need their hospital to stay open, so please listen to them!
"I was delighted to join the people of Grantham on Saturday and help to support their fight to keep the hospital open.
"The passion was incredible and just shows the strength of feeling in the town on this issue."
To join the fight, Mrs Parker urged people to visit http://www.thepetitionsite.com/948/618/734/stop-united-lincolnshire-hospital-trust-downgrading-grantham-hospital-ae-now/ where more than 30,000 have added their names.
