To The Editor,
It was wonderful and heart-warming to hear about churches in Nottingham coming together to spread the message about fostering.
National Foster Care Fortnight started this week, (May 14), and church leaders in the city took the chance at their Sunday services to spread the message to their congregations, as part of the pledge to provide 100 new foster homes for children in the city over the next three years.
I understand more than 100 churches across Nottingham have been given videos, sermons, prayers and children's activities to help them highlight the need for foster carers and how Christians can respond - that of course means the subject of fostering will be discussed with thousands of local people.
What a wonderful idea - many children will now have more chance of finding loving foster parents, where they can have a stable home life.
I applaud the churches for promoting family values.
Margot Parker, MEP for Nottingham.
