I read with interest a piece on the Suffragette memorial march rounding off a day of activities in Derby to mark International Women's Day.
It was wonderful to read about hundreds of people turning up to support the event and I would urge people to also back the 'Press For Progress' campaign as we strive towards parity in wages, job opportunities and job advancement.
The World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap report revealed just last week that gender parity is more than 200 years away.
Steps have been taken, we know that, but there is still much work and progress to be done.
We are making strides and although we know gender parity won't happen overnight, significant steps are being taken and there is a strong movement in the UK and overseas to change things for the better.
