EAST Midlands MEP Margot Parker said she was pleased an extra £70m will be invested in a newly opened treatment centre for military personnel.
The money will go to the Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre, (DNRC), at Stanford Hall, Nottinghamshire, which deals with amputees and complex brain injuries.
The money will help to build a second centre for civilians recuperating from major trauma injuries.
Mrs Parker said: "I was pleased to see this extra money being pledged to Stanford Hall.
"It is a fantastic facility and deserves extra funding to carry on the work it does there. We see so many cuts to our valuable services, so it is refreshing to see extra money earmarked for this centre."
