Now I have resigned from UKIP due to the damaging policies of the leader, I can concentrate more fully on Brexit and helping to deliver what the British people voted for in 2016.
The UKIP leader took his eye off the ball - the goal has to be Brexit - and that is why I have joined the new Brexit Party, which aims to change the political landscape and fight for what people voted for in the referendum.
I pledge to see out the rest of my mandate and to continue to represent and fight for the people of the East Midlands.
The people voted to leave the EU in 2016 and that decision must be implemented. We must not be afraid of leaving the EU - on World Trade organisation terms - if necessary.
Brexit offers us a fantastic opportunity - so let's get on with what the British people voted for.
