In The Media & Newsletter » Margot Parker MEP - It is our duty to meet extra demand for hospital discharge assessments over the winter
It was pleasing to read there are plans to invest £3.5m of the extra Government social care funding to help ease pressures at Nottinghamshire hospitals this winter.
This is part of the funding announced in the Budget speech last month.
The money in Nottinghamshire will help fund an additional 64 posts to meet the demand on social care services and includes extra funding for additional support workers to help people regain skills at home after leaving hospital, and cash for extra social workers and community care officers.
How we look after our older people and others who are vulnerable in society because of ill health is a mark of how civilised we are as a society.
It is our duty to meet extra demand for hospital discharge assessments over the winter.
