In The Media & Newsletter » Margot Parker MEP - Human rights and the right to practice religion must be respected and protected
I spoke last year in the European Parliament about the persecution of Muslims in China.
China is a major player globally but with this comes responsibility and yet again we are reading about how that country has crossed the line in the fight against radical Islam.
It is reported up to 10 million Uighurs and other Muslims in Xinjiang in the area of East Turkistan, are facing a brutal crackdown during Ramadan.
Human rights and the right to practice religion must be respected and protected.
We cannot allow the fight against terrorism to slip into the persecution of any religious groups.
