EAST Midlands MEP Margot Parker has again called on the Government to do all in its powers to secure the release of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe.
Mrs Parker has campaigned for the release of Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe, who was imprisoned in Iran accused of 'spying'.
Her latest call for action comes after it was revealed Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe is planning to go on a hunger strike this month over her treatment in prison in Tehran - she is protesting over being denied access to a doctor and medication.
Mrs Parker said: "It is horrifying what is happening to this poor woman and is a flagrant breach of her human rights.
"I would urge the Prime Minister to do all she can to help resolve this and reunite Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe with her family.
"She has been separated from her family and little daughter, with her physical and mental health suffering, for far too long.
"The Government must not rest until she is free."
