To The Editor,

Dear Sir/Madam,

What a wonderful idea - enthusiasts plan to build a full size replica of a Lancaster bomber next to the A46 between Lincoln and Newark.

This sculpture - which the The Bomber County Gateway Trust hopes will be in place by Armistice Day - would be a fantastic addition for the area, known as 'bomber county' because of the number of military airfields based their during World War Two.

The organisers are to be applauded and I hope their fundraising push to get the £100,000 needed to pay for the sculpture, is a great success.

Not only would the sculpture honour the brave airmen during the war but it would also provide a tourist attraction for the area.

Well done to all those involved in this idea.

Yours faithfully,

Margot Parker, MEP for Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire
