LINCOLNSHIRE MEP Margot Parker has said local communities already pay enough for services amid claims people may have to fork out more for policing.
Her comments came after it was revealed local communities may have to pay more for services as government grants are cut.
She said: "Only last week we heard street lights may be switched back on if communities paid for them.
"Now I understand parishes may be asked to pay for PCSOs to patrol their streets.
"Enough is enough - families are squeezed by ever-increasing bills as it is - to look at extra cash being paid by people to fund policing needs cannot be right.
"The Government has to look at why this is happening and ensure our police forces - and all our local services - are funded properly and sensibly.
"I am also concerned wealthier parishes may be able to afford this, while others can't. This is wholly unacceptable."
