In The Media & Newsletter » Margot Parker MEP - delighted to read the chances of a new train factory being built in Derbyshire have increased
I was delighted to read the chances of a new train factory being built in Derbyshire have increased.
Chesterfield is among six locations being looked at by Spanish train-maker Talgo for its first factory in the UK.
And now the former Hartington Colliery site, between Staveley and Barrow Hill, is on the final shortlist of two sites.
I understand the new factory will employ 1,000 people, with a further 4,000 jobs in the supply chain and importantly it will provide apprenticeships, training and educational opportunities.
This is a wonderful endorsement of the UK and our engineering abilities.
Maybe instead of the doom and gloom from those trying to overturn the referendum result, we may actually see some positivity and praise for the UK and the opportunities Brexit presents?
