In The Media & Newsletter » Margot Parker MEP - concerned to read a service for expectant mothers has been placed into special measures
I was extremely concerned to read a service for expectant mothers has been placed into special measures after safety fears were raised.
The Brayford Studio was handed an 'inadequate' rating by inspectors at the Care Quality Commission.
Among other concerns, the report stated, 'the service did not control infection risk well. There was no infection prevention and control policy in place and no standard cleaning schedule and no clear arrangements for the management, collection and disposal of clinical waste. There was no schedule or process for secure destruction of paper records in line with legislation. This posed a risk to the confidentiality of client information.'
Steps must now be taken to ensure these problems are corrected - expectant mothers need and expect the very best service and care.
