So, Lincolnshire residents can have their street lights switched back on - as long as they pay for it.
It beats turning them off!
To The Editor,
I was pleased to read in your paper that UKIP Mayor Danny Brookes said he will not give up the fight to get the street lights in Skegness switched back on.
His defiant pledge came after reports a resident from the town tripped up on her way home from work in the dark and hurt her ankle because she couldn't see a raised pavement.
I applaud those councillors who are fighting to get the lights back on - I realise times are hard and savings may have to be made by councils but to plunge our towns is dangerous and leads to fear of accidents, not to mention crime.
